Project Summary

Gain medical experience in a fascinating country with vibrant culture and work with local doctors to treat Costa Ricans.

While the healthcare system in Costa Rica is quite good, there is also a need to advance the quality as well as reach those in need. RCDP works with local clinics and hospitals to concentrate on the fields of general medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, obstetrics, neurology, dental, family medicine, psychology, counseling, social work, physical, occupational rehabilitation, rehabilitation for children, and others. For those who are interested in the healthcare field or already practicing medicine, this project is in great need of your interests and talents. You will have the opportunity to work and learn from local doctors, see the healthcare system of Costa Rica directly, and if you have good Spanish to treat local patients with minor injuries.

Project Location

Puntarenas is located in the Pacific Coast and is the shortest coastal town from San Jose, the capital and the largest city in Costa Rica. Because of this, Puntarenas receives plenty of tourists. The town has plenty of hotels and also a port. Despite being popular for beach and surfer, the beaches of Puntarenas are one of the most polluted in Costa Rica. There are regular beach cleaning activities.
