The Fee and Dates

RCDP Cambodia Program starts every 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.

Cambodia Program

Every year hundreds of volunteers arrive in Cambodia to volunteer from UK and USA based organizations and end up paying up to $2500 to volunteer for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, only a small portion of that money actually goes to host projects and host families. The local host projects (orphanages, school, and local NGOs) in Cambodia are poor and need external support to run their programs. In our program, you will pay your fee directly to host families and projects upon arrival in Cambodia. When you join our Cambodia volunteer program, we will make sure that all of your money goes to the projects and host families. Part of your fees also helps us cover our expenses. The program fee is divided as registration fee ($279) and weekly fee ( for room, food, coordination, and project donation).
Click to find the allocation of $279

In Cambodia, weekly fee is divided between room/3 local foods a day (50%) and project donation/support of local project staffs (50%). This allocation may be different depending on locations, project types etc. However, our coordinator will explain these issues before you pay the fee. Please find below the breakdown of cost in a weekly basis.

Accommodation/Meal/Supervision:

Cambodia Accommodation

In Cambodia, RCDP will look after all the needs of the volunteers including providing accommodation, 3 local meals and supervision during the entire program. Volunteers will stay either in a hostel family or in a hostel while volunteering in Cambodia. This depends on the project and the location you will choose. Our hostel is located in Phnom Penh in a very safe place. It is very close to the main market and has TV and internet.

Our host families in Cambodia have all been carefully screened and selected so they can provide you with a safe, secure and a very welcoming environment during your volunteer program. Staying with a host family will also give you a wonderful opportunity to immerse in local culture. You will a room for yourself but you might have to share with it another volunteer. You will also have shared bathroom and enjoy 3 local meals with the host family.

During the program, our country coordinator will be in touch with you to see how you are doing. You will also have the coordinator's mobile phone number and you can call anytime if you want to discuss sometime. Our project staff and the host family will also help you during your stay. In your free time, there are many things to do and see in Cambodia. Siep Reap is popular for night life and restaurants, Angkor Wat for the vast temple complex and you can also visit the coastal region of Cambodia for some sun and sand.
