Join our Women Empowerment Program in Tanzania and make a difference in the lives of women and girls facing challenges such as poverty, discrimination and harmful traditions.
Tanzania struggles with issues like poverty, limited resources, and deeply rooted superstitions, particularly affecting women and young girls. Many women lack access to education, economic opportunities, support systems, and also gets victim of mal practices like female genital mutilation (FGM), leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. FGM remains a prevalent issue in Tanzania, perpetuated by deeply entrenched cultural beliefs and traditions.
Through our program, you can work alongside local organizations to empower women and girls by providing education, skills training, and support networks. By providing education and alternative income-generating opportunities, you can empower them to abandon harmful practices and become advocates for change within their communities.
Join us in our efforts to end FGM and empower women and girls to lead healthy, fulfilling lives free from violence and discrimination. Your participation can make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by FGM, while contributing to the broader movement for women's rights and gender equality.
We seek individuals with a passion for serving disadvantaged women, coupled with qualities such as open-mindedness, resourcefulness, and patience. Your willingness to provide love and care, as well as your commitment to brightening their future, are essential. No other qualifications are required—all that matters is your dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of these women.
The work in orphanage in Tanzania project is located in the northern towns of Arusha, Moshi and Boma. Arush is often referred to as a gateway to the northern safari circuit. Despite being located very close to the equator, the town lies at an altitude of 14 hundred meters and enjoys cooler temperature year round. The town has superb views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Coffee plantations and maize and wheat fields dominate the surrounding countryside. Arusha National Park, which is full of wildlife, is the nearest safari option.
Moshi is a smaller town and is located about 45 miles from Arusha. It also enjoys a cooler weather but is much wetter. There are many things to see and do in Moshi, including visiting lively markets, religious institutions, many different safari options, climbing Kilimanjaro and cultural trips to Maasai villages.
