Help children orphaned by grinding poverty, diseases, abuse and other negative situations and give them a chance to succeed.
Tanzania remains one of the poorest countries in Africa. The government has limited resources and cannot offer much help to the orphaned children. These young kids mostly end up living on the street and many become involve in petty crime or are exploited as they seek work to survive. There are many orphanages running through private efforts or some through government programs that are taking good care of the children. These orphanages house, feed, send the children to school and clothe them. Despite this good work, these orphanages are always struggling for funds and are understaffed. RCDP is working with these local orphanages to offer volunteers a wonderful chance to help the children.
Join RCDP's orphanage project in Tanzania and work to better the lives and the future of orphaned children. You will provide love, care, impart skills and turn the children into confident individuals capable of believing in themselves. In return, you will receive warm appreciation, an experience that will enrich your life and memories that will stay with your forever.
You must have a passion to serve orphaned children and you must also be open-minded, resourceful and patience. You must also be willing to give love and care and make their future brighter. No other qualifications are required.
Share your love, skills and take care of the orphaned children. This will give them hope for a better future. The major responsibilities of a volunteer involves teaching the children English, math, or other subjects you think you can, assist them with their homework, teach personal hygiene, tidy their beds, change their clothes, wash them, feed them and even drop them to school. You may also have to pitch in with kitchen work, clean the orphanage and help in administrative duties. Many volunteers have also been involved with fundraising activities designed to help ease the financial burden facing the orphanage.
The work in orphanage in Tanzania project is located in the northern towns of Arusha, Moshi and Boma. Arush is often referred to as a gateway to the northern safari circuit. Despite being located very close to the equator, the town lies at an altitude of 14 hundred meters and enjoys cooler temperature year round. The town has superb views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Coffee plantations and maize and wheat fields dominate the surrounding countryside. Arusha National Park, which is full of wildlife, is the nearest safari option.
Moshi is a smaller town and is located about 45 miles from Arusha. It also enjoys a cooler weather but is much wetter. There are many things to see and do in Moshi, including visiting lively markets, religious institutions, many different safari options, climbing Kilimanjaro and cultural trips to Maasai villages.
