Despite Uganda's beauty and vibrancy, many teenage girls face obstacles in pursuing their football dreams. They often lack access to good facilities, equipment, and training. Economic challenges and cultural barriers also make it difficult for families to support their daughters' sports ambitions. As a result, many talented girls miss out on the chance to excel in football.

To address this, RCDP Volunteers has created a football coaching program specifically for teenage girls in Uganda. This program aims to help these girls unlock their potential by providing them with high-quality sports equipment, such as kits, boots, and balls, along with comprehensive training in football and important life skills. Volunteers will assist with daily team training, organize activities, and help with fundraising efforts. Our goal is to strengthen women's football in Mpigi District and beyond, offering these girls the chance to benefit from the sport's joy, discipline, and community spirit.

Skill/Qualification

To be successful in the football coaching volunteer program in Uganda, you need a few important skills. Having experience in football coaching will help you improve the skills of young players. A strong passion for sports and a commitment to supporting women and girls are crucial. You should also have good communication skills to work effectively with players and others involved in the program. Additionally, being able to write proposals and organize fundraising events is important for securing the support and resources needed. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. These skills will enable you to make a real impact on the lives of young girls in Uganda.

Volunteer's Responsibilities

As a volunteer in the football coaching program, you'll be responsible for training and coaching girls and women, helping them improve their skills and build confidence on the field. You'll also help plan and organize fundraising events to support the program and secure the resources we need. Connecting local football clubs with potential supporters and funders is important for expanding our network and gaining financial support. You'll work with the team to write strong proposals to attract funding and contribute to developing both short-term and long-term plans to achieve our goals. Your efforts will greatly impact young female athletes and help create a lasting future for women’s football in Uganda.

Accommodation/Meal and Supervision

During your Uganda football coaching volunteer program, RCDP will take care of your accommodation and meals. You can stay with a carefully selected host family or in a safe, clean volunteer house near your project and the city. Host families offer a safe environment and a chance to experience local culture. You’ll receive three meals a day from Monday to Friday. Our local coordinator will check in regularly and be available by phone 24/7 to ensure you’re comfortable and supported.
