The Fee and Dates

RCDP Panama volunteer Program starts every 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.

When you join our program, we will make sure that your money goes to the projects and host families. Part of your fees also helps us to cover our expenses. The program fee is divided in as registration fee ($259) and weekly fee for room, food, coordination, and project donation.

Weekly fee is divided between room/3 local foods a day (50%) and project donation/support of local project staffs (50%). This allocation may be different depending up on location, project type etc. However, our coordinator will explain these issues before you pay the fee. Please find below the breakdown of cost in a weekly basis.

The weekly Fee Does Not Include: Airfare, daily transportation, Visa andVisa extension fee, Airport drop, airport taxes, any personal expenses on foodand travel, Mineral water and soft drinks, Gifts to project staffs and hostfamily, Laundry, Telephone, Immunization

Accommodation/Meal/Supervision:

In Panama, volunteers who are participating inthe orphanage will stay at an on-site hostel. You will be sharing your room inthe hostel with other volunteers. Volunteers who participate in the otherprojects will be accommodated with a host family. Host families are wellscreened and respected. They will provide a safe and clean place to stay. Whenyou stay with a host family you will have the opportunity to practice yourSpanish and learn about the local culture. If you stay in a hostel, you willhave the opportunity to meet other adventurous travelers.

In both the hostel and with the host family,you will enjoy 3 meals per day. Host families offer shared bathroom facilitieswith running water and a “western” style toilet. Volunteers have the ability todo laundry at the house or the host family may offer to do it for you for anominal extra fee. If you will be out of the house during lunch hour, you canrequest a lunch "to go" that you can take with you or eat out on yourown. Host families provide typical meals that are traditional to Panama. It isrecommended that volunteers bring their own toilet paper, toothbrush/paste,soap, bath towel, pillow, and sheets.

Throughout thevolunteer project, our local staff stays in contact with volunteers either withface-to-face visits or via email/telephone. With longer placements, we visitour volunteers every two to four weeks (when possible).
