The special needs children in the city of Xi'an had difficulties getting proper care and education until the parents of the children set up this project. Today, the project looks after over 100 children and there are many trained staffs helping the children. Our volunteers will assist the local staffs and learn different skills and methods to care for autistics children and children with other disabilities. Through your help, the center can treat and care for the children better.

Your Responsibility as a Volunteer:

Our volunteers will work alongside local staffs. You'll be given all the help you'll need and guided along. The director of the center will supervisor your activities. You'll play with the children, including teach them to sing, organize normal games and lessons. You'll also help local staffs change nappy and bathe the children.

Skills Required:

Working with children suffering from disabilities is slightly tricky than normal children. But you'll be helped and guided, so you won't need any special training or education to volunteer in the project. You should, however, have the passion to help the children and be open-minded.

Arrangement of room/food/supervision:

Volunteers will stay in a Home Base, hostel or with a host family and take 3 local meals a day. If volunteers find the food too spicy they ask for less spicy meals if they want. While staying with a host family, you'll have a wonderful chance to learn about local people and their culture. Our Xi'an coordinator will be in touch with you all the time to ensure you are well and enjoying your volunteering.
