Definitely one of the best experiences of travelling I had! Very good life experience teaching in a school, learning so much about the different thai culture, going to different temples and experiencing the Thai lifestyle was simply amazing !

I had a great time in Thailand. The children were amazing and the other volunteers I met were fantastic. Thank you for making this experience possible. One thing i would suggest for future volunteers is that they all do a language course because i think it helped tremendously with teaching the children. The volunteers who did not do the language course found it very hard to communicate with the students and thought that they were wasting their time because they weren't learning anything. Maybe the language course should be incorporated into all the programs and it makes it possible for the students to understand the volunteers and for the lessons to be more productive.

The services provided by RCDP were great. They helped me pick a country and program that I would enjoy and that suited me. Emails and assistance was always very prompt.

The Support, meal, and accommodation I received during the program was great. At the school I had assistance from the staff, and as well, outside the school I had support and assistance to help me get the best out of my trip and to do the activities that I wanted to do. The accommodation was very clean and enjoyable.

My overall experience volunteering with RCDP was amazing. RCDP gave me the opportunity to travel to do something different and help others.

My stay at the school in Thailand was really short (1 week) but in that short time the kids really took a liking to me and this made the experience really rewarding. Everyday me and the other volunteers would play games and teach the kids basic English. As well, the staffs at the school were very welcoming and friendly. All in all, the experience was great and I would recommend this to others.

The accommodation and meals were sufficient for what I needed. The local support was phenomenal, the staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to assist me with anything.

I really loved the school where I worked, the kids and teachers were great. It really helped me to realize that teaching is what I enjoy doing.
The support staff were amazing, giving me an orientation and always being a phone call away. I was able to meet really great people living with me and made some great friends.
I did feel that the volunteering aspect was less intense than I thought and I was fully prepared to be 'worked' harder. The atmosphere was very laid back, I feel that it is something that could be taken advantage of in a negative way if an individual was inclined to do so.
I really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be working with RCDP in the future.

How do you assess the services of RCDP ?
Service was good. When you first send in your application is seems a long time before you get a reply. I do not think people understand what an enormous amount of organization you have to do to arrange a placement. Keep up the good work

Local support was good until we were to leave. Was not told what was expected of us on departure. We rang our contact to enquire and was told someone would pick us up and take us to station. When nothing happened rang them again and was told things had changed they would send a Tuk Tuk. The train had left by this time. We took the bus. If they had told us what to do with the key and that we had to find our way to the station, that would have been better communication. Was told that we would get a certificate acknowledging our time at the school. I do not know who was to give this to us.
Meals. All meals were great. Loved eating at the school with the children. Each day one of the students would give us a special treat. Also the teachers would bring something special to share with us. Dinner was always rice and meat ( great flavors) with sweats. Sometimes saved this for breakfast because we would love to try the great food from the night stands.
Accommodation Was more that we had expected. Clean, Air Conditioning, Fans, Hot Showers, Western Toilet, TV with DVD player. Plenty of supplies.

As I work in a school, I had an idea of what it was going to be like. My husband had no idea. He found it a bit frightening at first until we had lesson plans in place. We had a great time Hopefully the children learnt something. It would have been good to know what other volunteers had done in the past so that we could build on that. If a Diary was placed at the accommodation asking people to inform new volunteers what they had done at the schools. Give them some idea of what had worked for them and what did not. Will definitely do it again. Unfortunately we could only volunteer for 1 week but it did give us an opportunity to find out what it is like. We will definitely do it again but for longer.

first of all i wanted to thank you for the organization and assistance during my short teaching time in ayutaya. it has been a very good and very interesting experience, which i would like to repeat in the future. i hope that i shared with the school and my teacher some other teaching techniques and that the children enjoyed the classes and profited.
last but not at least, even though i know that it is not your new year yet, i wish you a great new year 2011.

Sorry for late email, I wanted to write you earlier but ever since i came back to Canada i've been really busy with school and family events.
I just wanted to thank you again for all the things you've done for me and other fellow volunteer workers. It's been such a great experience and it couldn't have been this perfect without your help and support. I really appreciate all you've done for us and your kind considerations.
I truly wish to go back to Thailand as early as possible. I still talk to the teachers at Wat Yai Chaimonkhol school. They are all great and I really miss the students. For first few days after I left the school, I cried to sleep because I missed those students so much.
Thailand was quite a different environment for me to live at first but because everyone was so kind and considerate I could get used to things really fast and it's been so great. It was much more than what I expected and I am really thankful. Please say hi to Ausswin for me. I hope to keep in touch with you! Take care :D

I think the teaching English program in Thailand is really great and I definitely learn a lot from it. The living environment is better than I think and the local assistants are friendly and eager to help. Consequently, the overall experience is great.
