Language Orientation and Cultural Immersion

The one week language and culture program offers volunteers an opportunity to learn more about life in India. This language and culture program is designed for volunteers who want to immerse themselves with their project and complete the work successfully. Through this program, volunteers will learn about India by familiarizing themselves with the local language, where you’ll learn basic phrases and verbs that are commonly used by Indians in their daily life, culture, and heritage of the land. You’ll also be involved in sightseeing tour of Delhi.

Proposed Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome at RCDP-India office, orientation on general issues, and discussion on the week's events.
Day 02: Hindi Language starts with greetings and continues with most daily usage phrases and words well designed to make foundation for volunteer program.
Day 03: Language classes continue
Day 04: New Delhi Sightseeing, visiting Lotus Temple, Himayus Tomb, Garden of five senses and India Gate
Day 05: Hindi language classes continue
Day 06: Old Delhi Sightseeing visiting Jama Mosque, Red Fort, Gandhi’s cremation and Chandi Chock market
Day 07: Closing of language classes. Review and evaluation.
