Ecuador is plagued with poverty, illiteracy and a government that fails to provide basic services to its people. Under this situation, it’s the poor who have suffered the most and many orphaned children have a hard time surviving and the orphanages that house them have difficulty providing the children proper care. There are many orphanages that have sprouted up to help orphaned children but they lack funding and support staff to look after the children.
RCDP is working with these orphanages of Ecuador to help them raise the children. You can now volunteer in our orphanage work project in Ecuador and help the orphanage educate, feed and house the children. Through your work and the love you will provide, the children can start to dream of a better future ahead. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring happiness to the lives of the neediest children.
You don’t require any specific set of skills to volunteer in the project. We will prefer volunteers who can speak little bit Spanish as they will be able to communicate better with the children and the staff at the orphanage. You should also come with energy and drive, and care and love the children. We also expect volunteers to be flexible and adaptive as working condition and the mentality of the people are very different from people back home.
Volunteers will assist orphaned children in various ways and help the orphanage run their programs smoothly. You can teach them English and/or Spanish, organize games and creative programs such as plays, music, dance and even recreational activities. You may also take the children on day trips, educational visits and teach them on personal hygiene. You can also participate in kitchen work, help clean the orphanage and work in the administration.
Our past volunteers have also been involved in fundraising activities to raise funds to improve the infrastructure of the orphanage.
RCDP will look after your entire need during your volunteering program. During the project, you will stay with the host family. You will be provided with a separate room but you will share bathroom facilities. We have chosen our host family carefully and they will provide with a safe and secure location for you to stay. They will have experience of hosting foreign volunteers before and at least one member of the host family will be able to communicate with you in English. Staying with a host family is a wonderful way to learn about the lifestyle and culture of Ecuador. Volunteers in many orphanages will stay inside the orphanage (in a hostel). You will be provided a separate room, which you might have to share with other volunteer if you there more than one volunteering at the same time. You will eat what is cooked for the children 3 meals a day. You will be served 3 locals meals by the host family. The meals will be prepared hygienically. Our staff will also visit you regularly to check your progress and see if you’re satisfied with the project or not. So you can rest assure that you will be completed looked after while you volunteer in orphanage work project in Ecuador.

The mission of RCDP-Nepal is to encourage international volunteers to contribute in sustainable community development that benefits the underprivileged and extremely poor. By developing the places and the communities, the volunteers are also developing themselves and learning new perspectives and ideas that will ultimately change their lives.
