The orphanages of China are usually government run facilities and are quite well managed. But these orphanages have many children and not enough staffs to care for them. The children also need to be helped during their studies and given care, attention and love. The local staffs are sometimes overwhelmed by the number of children they have to look after and they don't find the time to properly care for the children. The orphanage has children ranging from a 5 year old to 16. They attend schools but need all the help they can get to finish their homework and to improve their English. When you volunteer in the orphanage, you'll help these children in a variety of way, some of which includes teaching them English and other subjects and caring for them.
